A lit candle, and words that don't try to fix anything.
A single candle burning in a glass, lavender and eucalyptus laid around it, framed by soft blue watercolor. The greeting sits above in deep navy, with With deepest sympathy beneath.
The candle does something a floral card can't: it reads as remembrance rather than decoration. It's the image people reach for when someone has died, and it carries that without needing religious imagery to do it — no crosses, no scripture, nothing that assumes what the family believes.
The card is blank inside for your own words.
WHEN TO SEND IT
A death in the family. A funeral you can't attend. The week after, when the flowers have gone and the house is quiet. It also works for a memorial or an anniversary of a loss, which is often when a card matters most and almost nobody sends one.

HOW IT WORKS

Print at home, at a print shop, or upload to a photo service

PRINTING
6 x 4 is standard photo size, so any photo lab, drugstore kiosk or home printer will handle it. I'd suggest matte cardstock — 110 lb / 300 gsm. Matte suits this design particularly well; gloss makes a sympathy card look like a photo print. Choose "actual size" or "100%" rather than "fit to page."
